Malibu’s Allocation of $4 Million Rebuild State Grant
Earlier this year, the City of Malibu received an allocation of funding in the amount of $318,698 through the State of California’s 2025 Recovery Planning Grant Program.
The City’s allocation was a part of a $4 million statewide funding package created through the leadership of Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin to assist fire-impacted communities.
With ongoing commitment to helping homeowners rebuild and supporting the community’s recovery from the January 2025 fires, the City is putting this funding to work for residents. These funds will allow Malibu to hire specialized, expert recovery caseworkers who will provide one-on-one, concierge-level assistance to help fire survivors get through every step of the rebuilding process, from initial planning applications through final inspections, more quickly and easily.
The City continues to work closely with Cal OES and FEMA to ensure compliance with federal and state rules to pursue every possible dollar of recovery assistance and long-term funding opportunities to bolster Malibu’s rebuilding and recovery efforts.
Grant funding adds to the City’s tremendous investment in the rebuild effort, to find ways to streamline processes and help homeowners. More details about the grant-funded specialized recovery caseworkers and other grant funding the City is aggressively pursuing will be shared as soon as it is available at MalibuRebuilds.org, social media and the Rebuild Newsletter.
