New Malibu Rebuild Center Now Open as a One-Stop Shop for Rebuilding
The new Malibu Rebuild Center is now open offering a one-stop-shop with dedicated City staff to guide property owners through the rebuild process from beginning to end.
The Rebuild Center is located at 23805 Stuart Ranch Road, Suite 240 and open Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. To schedule an in-person or virtual appointment, contact MalibuRecovers@MalibuCity.org or (310) 456-2489, ext. 390.

March 12 Building & Design Professionals Town Hall Recap
On Wednesday, March 12, the City hosted an interactive town hall to give architects, engineers and expediters a comprehensive, step-by-step overview of the rebuild process. Experts from the City, LA County and other partner agencies shared information about the new, streamlined procedures and presented the rebuilding options and work flows.
DEBRIS REMOVAL UPDATES
Phase 2 Debris Removal – Status Update
On March 3, Phase 2 debris removal was completed on the first Malibu properties in the Palisades Fire burn area. The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) continues to expand Phase 2 debris removal on other Malibu properties.

LA County Team at City Hall to Assist with Right-of-Entry Forms by March 31 Deadline
Tetra Tech specialists with LA County will be at Malibu City Hall until Monday, March 31, Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM to help property owners complete their Debris Removal Right-of-Entry (ROE) Forms by the March 31 deadline.
They can help answer ROE questions, provide status updates on ROEs, collect and review required documents, or complete the opt-out form. The LA County team can also be reached by phone at 323-673-5547.

MARCH 20 – City of Malibu & Southern California Edison Town Hall: Powerline Undergrounding Project – Nicholas Circuit
from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Malibu City Hall
Join Southern California Edison, the City of Malibu, and the County of Los Angeles for a town hall to discuss efforts to restore electric service to the neighborhoods impacted by the Palisades Fire. Subject matter experts will be on hand to provide information on plans to rebuild electric infrastructure and discuss what residents need to do to restore power to their homes or businesses.
The goal of the Powerline Undergrounding Project in the burn area is to reduce wildfire threats and make the electrical system more reliable during extreme weather conditions. Receive updates on the restoration efforts, land acquisition, applying for electrical service restoration and City/County permitting processes.

Energy-Saving Boost for Local Restaurants from SoCalGas
SoCalGas is helping Malibu restaurants cut costs and save energy with its free Restaurant Energy Efficiency Starter Kit. It includes a Turbo Pot Aluminum Frying Pan, pre-rinse spray valve, aerators, a thermometer, pipe insulation, and more. The kits are designed to reduce energy and water use. Local businesses can also access rebates, efficiency surveys, and additional savings tools.
National Guard Providing Security in Malibu Burn Areas Through Friday, March 28
The National Guard will continue provide security to burn areas in Malibu through Friday, March 28. The National Guard is using the vacant lot at Civic Center Way and Stuart Ranch Road as a staging area, and will maintain the following resident-only checkpoints:
- Rambla Vista (South Entrance)
- Rambla Pacifico
- Las Flores
- Big Rock
- Tuna Canyon
- Pena Road
- Carbon Beach Terrace
