(Malibu, CA) — The Malibu City Council continues to take decisive action to advance recovery and rebuilding efforts. During its Special Meeting on February 27, the City Council discussed the City’s fire recovery efforts and advocated for more community engagement opportunities.
The City Council decided to change the format of the March 4 Special City Council meeting. The City Council will conduct a workshop to address proposed ordinance changes discussed during the February 20 Planning Commission meeting. Following the workshop, City Council will conduct a Public Hearing on the proposed ordinance changes.
The workshop will last no more than six hours. Depending on the duration of the workshop, the City Council may elect to adjourn the meeting following the workshop and continue the Public Hearing to Wednesday, March 5. The meeting agenda, staff report and participation instructions will be available in advance at: MalibuCity.org/AgendaCenter.
The City Council also received a presentation about the Malibu Rebuild Center (23805 Stuart Ranch Rd), an in-person hub designed to provide streamlined support for both residents and businesses as they navigate the recovery and rebuilding process. The Malibu Rebuild Center is scheduled to open on Monday, March 10, and will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
“As we rebuild from these fires, our focus remains on creating a clear and supportive framework that enables our community to recover quickly and safely,” said Malibu Mayor Doug Stewart. “The Malibu Rebuild Center is an incredible milestone in this process, centralizing key information and resources under one roof and extending our digital efforts that are already underway.”
